Creating your own masterpiece is as simple as ABC…
A. You choose the item you would like to paint: this could be a functional item such as a plate, bowl, mug or teapot or something more abstract or for decorative purposes like a trinket box or ornament
B. Next you decide how you want to decorate your piece, choose your design, theme & colour scheme and then paint your item. (We have a wide variety of stencils, sponges, stamps, tracings or books & can offer on hand assistance to get you started). You can even draw your design on with felt tip pen before you start, as this will magically burn off during the firing process.
C. Now it’s over to us. Leave your finished item with us to be glazed & fired & ready for collection within 10 days. You will be amazed by the magic of the kiln!
Costs
You pay a studio fee of £3.50 per painter, which covers the use of the paints, the glazing & firing service. For that fee you get up to a 2-hour sitting & a firing service taking upto 10 days. Should you require longer than 2 hours to finish your chosen item there may be an additional studio fee of £1.50 per hour there after, but this is discretionary. We also offer a fast track firing service within 5 days for an extra £5 per item for those really urgent items, but please ask at the time if this service is available.
In addition to the studio fee each item of pottery is individually priced and we have a wide range of items for you to choose from including various cups, plates through to vases, wine coolers, plant pots, ornaments as well as trinket boxes & moneyboxes, picture frames etc etc.
If you’re not brave enough yourself we can do commissions for any special occasion. You should however allow a 1-2 week period for this if possible. See the keepsakes and commissions section for more information about these services.
Booking is not essential, but is recommended for weekends & school holidays especially if you’re part of a larger group. We are happy to extend traditional opening hours to facilitate private bookings and can also negotiate group booking discounts, personalized packages and mobile services.

A catalogue is available for additional shapes and items, which can be ordered in from the supplier, but please be aware there may be a delay whilst awaiting supply.
These prices are accurate at the time of printing for ‘paint your own’ and hand and foot print items. Commission items requiring artwork are charged at variable rates depending on the complexity of the design request and the time taken by staff to complete the item. Staff are happy to write names and dates on items for no extra cost, larger, longer or more detailed text and messages may be chargeable, please ask foe details.
